The Bank of China Building is the second-tallest building in Hong Kong, 74 storeys high. It's unusual shape is today one of the best known landmarks of Hong Kong, even though the building isn't liked by everyone because of its sharpe corners, the spikes of the roof, etc. It brings bad luck, says the neighbours, closing up their windows to protect them from the bad luck. Still, it's one of the most impressive buildings in Hong Kong. The architect is Mr I M Pei.

To the right you can also see The Hong Kong & Shanghai Building. Designed by architect Norman Foster, it cost over US$ 1 billion and was the most expensive building in the world at the time of its completion in 1985. It has a unique design and is well worth visiting. The gears, chains, motors and other moving parts of the escalatiors and lifts are all visible.
