In the Hunghom district at Whampoa garden, you are suprised by finding a ship onshore. It's the Whampoa, a shopping center built as a full scale luxury cruiser. 100 meters long and four decks tall - the ship is impressive. Inside you will find shops, restaurants, a cinema, a Internet Café and a playground (on top deck).
Adjacent to the Whampoa is other shopping areas including Hong Kong Place, which hold one of three 'music fountains' in Hong Kong, the other two are at Shatin and Tsuen Wan.
The name Whampoa comes from the outport of Guangzhou in the Xi River.
